Letter from the Chairman
SHS is committed to research, document, preserve, and educate the public regarding the history of the Straus family. Throughout this year we have continued our many ongoing projects. We often make new discoveries, enriching our understanding of the factors that enabled Straus family members to make significant contributions to their country and to the world.

Educational Grants in Public Policy
In 2017, SHS established the Straus Historical Society Scholarship Program to support the continuing education of graduate students whose professional objective is advancement in the field of public service. The Program reflects the Straus family’s long and honored history of public service and philanthropy. In 2024, we awarded five scholarships.

Archiving Work Continues
Catherine and Joan have been editing and preparing several collections and cataloging new acquisitions. The Archive Committee meets regularly to ensure the proper preservation of all the materials and to evaluate the policies and procedures for digitization.

Morse Charitable Trust Annual Matching Grant
We are grateful to the David A. and Mildred H. Morse Charitable Trust for honoring SHS with a Challenge Matching Grant. Because of your generous, earmarked contributions, an additional year of funding was raised.

Projects
SHS continues to work with researchers and authors who are writing books and articles about a family member or some aspect of Straus history. SHS gives presentations to groups around the world who are interested in Straus family history, many of which can be seen on our YouTube channel.

Social Media
We have increased our social media presence by creating an Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Threads, & LinkedIn accounts where stories and photos of the family are regularly posted. Find us @StrausHistoricalSociety Follow, subscribe, and like us!

Sustained growth and maintaining excellence do not come without cost, a cost that increases each year. If we are to be positioned to build on our achievements, we respectfully ask that you consider as generous an investment in SHS as you feel you can afford.
