The Straus Historical Society is interested in hiring an unpaid intern for the Summer of 2016.
About the position:
The Straus Historical Society is seeking an intern who is interested in history and would like to gain experience in an archival setting. This intern would help the Assistant Director with the basic functions of the Society, including record keeping, preservation, digitization, fundraising and educational outreach. The candidate must be an undergraduate or graduate student preferably with a focus in History. The position is unpaid and the schedule is flexible.
Requirements:
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Extreme attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Computer literacy and knowledge of word processing software and email
Ability to learn quickly, work independently, multitask, manage time, and meet deadlines
